“ BRASS JOY”
"Brass Joy" started in 1998 when Lalo and Danilo first
met. Danilo Moccia, a superb jazz trombonist from Switzerland,
is in a special
class where few musicians inspired by the likes of J.J. Johnson
and Frank Rossolino belong.
Together they compiled an eclectic repertory that goes from Duke
to Parker to Silver to the great standards of Porter, Kern, Berlin,
Gershwin, etc. to the funkyness of Hancock and Zawinul, passing
thru the loveliness of Jobim. Their own simple but cooking arrangements
make for a very swingin' band.
